Home About Us What we do

What we do

We provide a small, professional learning environment for pupils aged 13–19, helping them develop essential skills for life. Our holistic approach ensures that personal, social, academic, and overall wellbeing are equally prioritised. Each pupil will benefit from a highly trained team skilled in supporting complex needs, including Trauma-Informed Practice and a diverse range of pedagogies.

To prepare pupils for further education, employment, or independent living, we offer a comprehensive range of vocational units designed to provide practical experience and build industry-specific skills. Our curriculum includes vocational pathways across various sectors:

  • Building Zone: Pupils can gain hands-on experience in construction trades such as plumbing, carpentry, tiling, and plastering, building valuable technical skills in a workshop environment.
  • Hair and Beauty Salon: Offering training in hairdressing, barbering, nail treatments, and beauty therapy, this space simulates a real salon, providing authentic industry experience.
  • Teaching Kitchen: Focused on cookery and life skills, the teaching kitchen encourages independent living and introduces pupils to careers in hospitality and catering.
  • Art and Design Studio: A creative space for hands-on artistic expression, crafting activities, and pursuing qualifications in art and design.
  • IT Suite: Supporting the development of multimedia and IT skills, pupils can explore potential qualifications in digital media and gaming, subject to approval.
  • Immersive Room: This innovative space uses interactive virtual scenarios to develop problem-solving, decision-making, and real-world application of learning.

In addition to vocational learning, our school mirrors the professional expectations of the adult world. Pupils follow a pupil-devised Code of Conduct, taking full responsibility for their learning, wellbeing, and engagement in opportunities. They will also adopt a professional approach in their studies, learning to manage portfolios, meet deadlines, and cultivate strong work habits.

Transitioning into adulthood is challenging, but our strong team and clear leadership will ensure pupils have a secure foundation for their next steps. With the confidence and competencies developed through our vocational programs, they will be well-prepared to pursue their goals in further education, training, or the workforce.
